Relay for Life Meeting

Hey everyone,

We had a meeting last night for the Relay For Life. Santesh, Andrew and I attended. We decided to do 2 things to earn money during the event. One is we're taking the robot and charging to have kids, or adults, shoot baskets with the robot. The other is we're selling baked goods. I told Santesh and Andrew if they build a cookie cutter and/or small brownie/cake pan that is robot shaped, that would be awesome (nudge, nudge to the team). So, I plan on baking for the team to sell it at the event to make money for our team. Not only are you supporting a great cause but there are incentives for raising money. So please, please, please keep up the fundraising efforts!

I hope to be baking Wed, June 6th and Thursday June 7th for the event on the 8th and 9th. If anyone would like to help, kids or parents, it would be GREATLY appreciated. I'll also be looking for donations of baking stuff (flour, sugar, eggs, etc....) so please keep that in mind. I will send out an e-mail a little closer to the date. 

Also, I believe Santesh has a small tent for the event but it would be nice if we could find some kind of canopy or something to cover us in case of rain. If you have one or know anyone that wouldn't mind letting us borrow it for the event, please let me know.

I just want to say thank you for all the support of our parents and families. You have really stepped up and we wouldn't be able to do it without you! Thank you!

Awards Dinner Planning

Hi Everyone,

I have made a decision. We're going to have a dinner, with everyone coming bringing a dish, along with awards in the commons area at Appoquinimink High School. Now we need to give them a date ahead of time, so how does Tuesday night, May 29th or Thursday night, May 31st work for everyone? It would be from 6pm to either 8pm or 9pm. As for the bonfire, that will have to be done at a different date to Adam's discretion and planning as it would be at his house. any nights sound better than the other for everyone? I'm sorry for all the confusion but it's so hard to plan a date for everyone to make it and we really want the whole team there if we can! Thanks.

Next Meetings

Now that the robot is in the bag, we need to get the lab cleaned up and ready to work on the last subassemblies to be installed just before the competition. We will be meeting Friday night, 6-9pm, and Saturday 10am-5pm. Hopefully, we will have the parts by then.

Meeting Moved

The meeting scheduled for Saturday, January 21 has been moved to Sunday, January 22 due to inclement weather. The meeting will be from 10am to 5pm.

2012 Rebound Rumble Build Season

Welcome to the 2012 Rebound Rumble build season! We will be meeting Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 6-9pm, and Saturday from 10-5. This schedule starts this week and will continue for the next 6 weeks, until build season concludes.

Kick-Off

Hope everyone is ready for Kick-Off. The meeting for Kick-Off will start at 10:00am on Saturday, January 7, 2012. Hope to see eveyone there and ready for the new season.

Meeting Tonight

Since schools will be closed tomorrow in honor of Veterans’ Day, we will be meeting tonight from 6-8pm.

Next Meeting

Just a reminder that we will be meeting Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at 6pm.  St. Andrew’s has a game Tuesday, so we’ll continue with rebuilding the arm and working on the pit. Also, remember since there is no school on Friday, November 11, 2011, there will be no meeting.

Definitely try to make it to Tuesday's meeting. We will be welcoming about 10 new team mates from St. Andrews School and Dr. Harvey Johnson, their teacher and our newest mentor. I will be bringing an XBox Kinect and we will start looking at how we might use it.

Also, Adam and I had talked about redoing the arm on our robot. I think it would be very good for our public relations to have some sort of working arm on the robot. Remember that we need to visit J.C. Penny's at some point and having that robot functional will be important. We might want to revisit the floor-pickup mechanism that we attempted earlier this year.

Meeting Change & Off-Season Project

Due to the Homecoming Game and Dance at Appo HS this Friday, we will be having our meeting on Thursday instead.  Remember to think about requirements and design ideas for improving pit and shop storage.  Sketch out or write up any ideas you might have and be prepared to discuss them.  We’ll also go over our competition schedule and expectations.

Duel on Delaware

If you are going to the Duel on Delaware on Saturday, October 22, 2011, please let Paul know by Thursday, Octoboer 20, 2011. We will be meeting at the New Wawa in Middletown (The one by MHS) at 5:00AM, and then leaving from there by 5:30AM. The pits at the Duel open at 7:30AM. Then we will be leaving around 5:00PM and arrive back in Middletown around 6:00PM to 6:30PM (will be dropping students off again at the New Wawa in Middletown).
